Since the release of Age of Sigmar I have built a couple of armies, only managing to get one fully painted (Skaven - no surprise there!). During the first half of the year, I've had a couple of issues in my personal life, but I am back!
I'll be starting a new army in which I'll use when I attend tournaments next year, and what better way then to start with a small warband of models. In the blog I'll be showing pictures of the warband as it grows into a fully fledged army and create a background story for them.
To do this, I'll be starting with the AoS Skirmish rule set. My girlfriend is making and painting her very own models, a Stormcast warband, in which to pit mine against. This will progress into Path to Glory, and then into some Generals Handbook scenarios.
So, what will I be starting with you ask? The answer is Nurgle of different types! The model range is beautiful and allows for a lot of conversions. So my initial starting 30 Skirmish Warband consists of -
Lord of Chaos Dema'khar, Nurgle, General, Great Destroyer, Daemon Weapon.
Chaos Warrior, Nurgle, Great Blade.
Bestigor.
Plaguebearer.
Marauder, Nurgle, Shield.
The reason I've gone for these models is for the variety. There's quite a few different skin tones and textures amongst the models to make for a cool looking warband. I'm thinking in the future I'd like to add a Chaos Knight for the power and movement, and if possible a spell caster somewhere. Reading through the rules, I see Arcane Bolt being very powerful in these small combats.
Anyhow if you managed to read through all that without getting bored, well done. I promise the future posts will contain some pictures.
Adam
