I've written up a list for an upcoming tournament. 1600 points, no Lords, no duplicate war machines, max 40 in a unit, no Doomrocket.
Here's the list -
Chieftain, GENERAL, halberd.
Chieftain, BSB, shield, Warrior Bane.
Plague Priest, Plague Furnace, Flail, Ironcurse Icon.
38 Stormvermin, Full Command, Storm Banner.
40 Slaves, musician.
40 Slaves, musician.
5 Giant Rats, Packmaster.
5 Giant Rats, Packmaster.
35 Plague Monks, Full Command. Plague Banner.
7 Gutter Runners, Poisoned Attacks, Slings.
Doomwheel.
Warp Lightning Cannon.
I'd like feed back. I've taken the furnace as it I've never used it before and I've just painted it up. The slaves are there to hold stuff up, and got two combat units in the Stormvermin and Monks.

More Death Guard

Plague Furance Finished!
So I've completed the Plague Furnace while still working on the Death Guard commission. Photos of these will be coming on Friday.
Originally I wanted to put the Skrolk model on the front, but decided against it. It was painted in 20 seperate pieces. I've gone for a sort of rotting dirty wooden frame while doing rusty metal. This is the first bit of rust and dirt in the army. I'll only be applying this to Pestilance models. I'll be going back to the Plague Monks soon to apply the rust details.

More Stormvermin
I've completed another 5 Stormvermin. I've worked it out, and I need another 13 painted for a tournament mid June. Easy enough to do. I would like to do another Warlord and maybe a another BSB but I'll see what time I have. For the rest of the week, I need to work on the Death Guard commission. By the weekend, I hope to have all 20 marines done which leaves me the 2 characters to do at the weekend. The following week will be the Possessed and the Dreadnought.

Death Guard WIP
So I've finished 3 test models for a Death Guard commission I'll be working on from Monday. Not seen many of the Forge World bits but I am looking forward to these! Painted in a few different ways and schemes but the common one was dark and dirty and weathered as we expect these guys to be! I think I'll paint the eyes a dark orange maybe?

Ork Killa Kan
So I'm really starting to dislike 40K. That or I'm growing ever in love with Fantasy. So I've decided to paint up my Ork army I have lying around and sell it. It will be a few months I think seeing as I have commissions and my Skaven to continue with but heres the first model!

Stormvermin Test Models 2
So here are a few changes done with the feed back from everybody. I'm really liking the black armour and the black glossy blade to highlight they are 'elite' infantry.

Test Stormvermin
Heres my two different test models for the Stormvermin. One has a slightly darker metal then the Clanrats, the other has black armour with chips from it. What do you all prefer?
New Skave List
So after the tournament, I've decided to change my list slightly. Now I know I'm still not the best Skaven General and I know theres better options but I just want to try some stuff out before moving on. I did at first plan on taking a Furnace with the monks, but after painting 40 of those ugly plaxtic monk models, I doubt they will ever find a place in my list now which is a shame as I love the Furnace model its self. Don't get me wrong I'm still going to paint one :)
So heres the list -
Grey Seer, General, Earthing Rod, Talisman of Preservation.
Grey Seer, Power Scroll.
Chieftain, BSB, Halberd, Shield, Dragonhelm, Obsidian Trinket.
Chieftain, Halberd, Skavenbrew.
Engineer, Level 1, Dispel Scroll.
Engineer, Doom Rocket.
34 Stormvermin, Shields, Full Command, Razor Standard.
29 Clanrats, Shields, Full Command, Poisoned Wind Mortar.
28 Clanrats, Shields, Full Command, Poisoned Wind Mortar.
38 SLaves, Musician.
35 SLaves, Musician.
5 Giant Rats, 1 Packmaster.
5 Giant Rats, 1 Packmaster.
10 Gutter Runners, Poisoned Attacks, Slings.
Hell Pit Abomination, Warpstone Spikes.
Warp Lightning Cannon.
After a few months of trying this I'm going to move onto a Seer/Warlord build. I though the Skavenbrew in the Stormvermin could be quite fun and 'Skaven like' and could help them although they still can't go toe to toe with enemy elite choices. First game tonight vs Rob and his Daemons.

Quick and Easy Painting Rust Tutorial
So I've decided to do a quick tutorial on how I painted the rust on my trial Plaguebearers. Not many colours used, not much time and give a decent look. All but the finished photos were taken with my phone so excuse bad lighting etc..
I started by basecoating the metal with GW Boltgun Metal with a Large Brush. Boltgun Metak is nice dark metalic colour which is perfect for the base.

Test Plaguebearer
I've painted up a quick Plaguebearer for some Daemons. Want some feedback! A friend has also asked for a tutorial on the rust so I'll get one done and upload it tomorrow!
One day tournament.
So yesterday, I attended my first tournament. I took my Skaven army, that you can see on my blog. Three games held over the day 2400 points using the SCGT comp pack.
My first game I played vs Tom Richards and his Wood Elves. Never fought them, no idea what I needed to do and thus lost 18-2. Very good game and taught me alot!
Second game was against Chaos Dwarfs. Now I have always wanted to start this army and have indeed bought a few models last week for them. The list wasn't optiomised. No destoyer, no hell cannon and his Prophet Lord was on a taurus I believe. My army just couldnt finish off what was needed. His Lord was on one wound, 2 Chaos dwarfs feeling from one unit etc so I only managed a 11-9 win but my first win none the less and ended my 9 games loosing streak!
Third game was against my regular opponent Pete with his Ogres. Very fun game again and after turn 3 looked like it was in the bag. But like true Skaven style, F'd it up and lost 15-5 in the end!
I finished 12th but also took home Best Painted Army!
