Ogres on eBay

I've put a few models which I've done in the last few days on eBay. I've had them laying around since the release so thought it was about time they go tpainted up and off to new homes. My Painting Desk

I've got a fair bit on it. Mainly some Ogre Kingdoms models. An Ironblaster, Stonehorn, Thundertusk, 2 Mournfangs, an Anhillator Barge + Lord and 2 Haemonculi.
Should hopfully have these done end of the week. Only the Ironblaster is finished though >.<

Army Slowly Rising

The Warriors of Chaos are slowly coming together. Got 4 units done. Need to finish a few commisions and stuff for eBay so I'll come back the them next week :)

Warriors of Chaos

So me and a friend have decided to meet up for a battle after the new year sometime. I want to try out my Warriors of Chaos and he will be using his Daemons. We have gone for 2000 points. I'm pretty set on List 1 in my previous post on my blog. With this army list brings its challenge. I haven't got any of it painted. Its all built (minus the Hellcannon) but not painted. So I'll be getting this army up to gaming standard, and then reviewing it aswell as the painting when the new book is out.

That leaves me 4-5 weeks to get the army done. Should be easy :)

Todays musings

So I've finished undercoating the Necrons and now going to do the Black armour segments and guns.
After seeing all the new Necron models and a few of the rules I thought about maybe doing an army of the blighters. I decided against it to get some paint on the Orks I've had lying around for some time. In Fantasy I have also put my Skaven aside for a while and now playing with my Warriors of Chaos. I've come up with two lists. Both for general play. I know I will win alot more games with List one having a Level 4 Sorcerer in there, so I'm leaning towards list 2 more. Its different, fun and 2 of my close friends play Ogres so I want to get into combat :)

I'm Back

Sorry all for what seems like an eternity of not blogging. I'm not dead and indeed still painting. I've been doing a few commission bits, aswell as playing Fantasy and 40K aswell as Blood Bowl!
I've decided to do a test scheme to break up the Necron commission I'm doing at the moment. Here he is, let me know what you think...

Ogres

Just a few WIP shots of some new ogres. Very nice models, and  had no problems with the Finecast material despite hearing alot about alot of problems. Let me know what you think of the skin which is now finished. I'm also on twitter, follow @elfordminis

Khorne Terminators

This weekend while finishing some eBay models, I also done my Khorne Terminators for my 40K army. Only tabletop standard again as I want to get a fully painted army on the board and decided these are the ones :)

First 40K

Today I played my first game of 40K since 3rd edition. Its still just as fun and quick action paced!
We rolled an objective based game. My army was a Khorne Daemon Prince, Khorne Termi Lord Lightning Claws, Termi squad with claws, 10 Khornate Possessed, a squad of Bezerkers with Rhino and 2 squads of Plague Marines with Rhinos and 4 Obliterators. I think Peter took a Warboss with 10 Nobs in battlewagon, 15 burnas in battle wagon, 15-20 storm boyz with special character, 11 lootas, 2 x boyz. He went easy on me so I could learn.

The Daemon Prince, Possessed, Plague Marines and Obliterators all performed well. The bezerkers got it handed to them by his Warboss and Nobs.

I learnt alot and looking forward to my next game. I think I'm going to have to include a Nurgle Daemon Prince and maybe fill out my other squads a little. The Terminators will make way for this. Also I'm going to take a Defiler and give that a run out.

Khorne Daemon Prince

As promised heres a picture of my own Daemon Prince. I was going for a quick tabletop standard for my own 40K army. I tried using the old Chestnut Ink on the Gold parts. It cam out ok but I think I need to play around with it more. I never seem to bothered with my own models which is a shame. Maybe I need an army that will make me put in the effort. Today on my table I've got the Vampire Count Models, so I'll see how far I get with them.

Monster Mash

Today I've made the new Vampire Count models to be sold on eBay. Like all of GW's new models, these were a joy to make and very easy due to the instructions. They have done well with the new kits.

I also finished my Khorne Daemon Prince but I'll show some photos of them tomorrow.

The Next Two Weeks

Just a quick one. I've got 47 models to finish by Friday the 19th. These include commissions, stuff for ebay and a few of my own models. On commission I've got a Plague Claw Catapult and an Abomination for a client in Spain, and 10 Gutter Runners for a client here in the UK. The eBay lot consists of some of the Tomb King models which have been laying around since thier release months ago! And for my own army, Chaos Marines which I was kindly given by a friend, I have a small Khorne army I want to get painted just so some of the army have colour. A Daemon Prince, 10 Possessed, 8 Bezerkers and Rhino, 5 Terminators with Lightning Claws and a Lord with Lightning Claws. Quite a bit of work in what seems so little time so wish me luck :)

Dark Elf Sorceress on Manticore

I put together a Dark Elf Sorceress on Manticore using parts from the new Storm of Magic boxed sets as part of a commission. A quick tabletop paintjob and heres the finished article. Lovely model to work with.

Now to find a way to include a Chaos Lord mounted atop one for my WoC....

Been a While!

Hi people. Its been a while. I've been very with real life and commissions. But I plan on updating 3-5 times a week from now on.

Starting with an army list. I've been given a load of Chaos Mairnes from a new friend of mine and wanted to come up with a 1000 list to learn the game with. I haven't played since 3rd Edition and I've been told alot has changed. I'll learn soon enough!

The Week So Far..

I've started on my mates Watchtower. Only the out house from the top done so far. Expect pictures over the weekend.
The Tomg King models arrived. The Warshpinx, 10 Tomb Guard and the Sepulchral Stalkers. Lovely models. I love the undead and 'Egyptian' feel to the whole army, always have done!
The NMM Terminatoer I done is in a painting competition. I don't expect to win as there are some great enteries, and I should have taken more photos. I'll learn! Heres the compertition http://thebrushbrothers.blogspot.com/

NMM Terminator

I decided to do a NMM Grey Knight Terminatior. I haven't really tried much NMM so thought I best try and improve the little skill I have. I enjoyed it alot, but still the silver looks grey. I think I'm going to need alot of practice. Any way here it is ..

1600 Skaven List

So I'm increasing the points I play Warhammer now. Having picked up the rules quite quickly since last playing in 6th Edition, I believe 1000 points too small. I need more units to get used to before starting to go to tournaments. So heres my 1600 Point Skaven List. Let me know what you think.

WIP Hell Pit Abomination

Tuesday night saw the death of a friend, RIP Dan, so I haven't done much since then. What I have done though is do a bit more on a commission for a friend in Finland. I assembled his watchtower scenery. Lovely piece, and continued work on his Skaven Hell Pit Abomination. Below are pictures, there are still alot more to be done as can be seen but its getting there!

WIP Grey Knight Terminators

The last few days have been a bit mental for me. I've had quite a big change in my real life situations and quite a few commitments to fufil but all back on track now. I hope!

Today I've been painting some Grey Knight Terminators. These probably have about 7-8 colours remaining so these will be completed tomorrow. The date for the auctions has been set back and back, but I'm confident they will be up tomorrow evening and will last for 7 days.

Over the Weekend

Over the Weekend I didn't get up to much hobby related. I thought about a few army lists for my Skaven and Orcs and Goblins, I basecoated the Grey Knight Purifiers and Terminators and gave them a wash and that was about it. I plan to get the Purifier squad near to finished by tonight and then tomorrow finish them. I was going to do a little tutorial on how to do the Nemisis Force weapons and the lightning details in them but unsure whether to wait to do a tutorial on the Blood Angels.

Dreadknight

I've finished up the Grey Knight Dreadknight. It was a great kit to make and paint although it reminded me how much I hate metallics. Although easy, very boring. I think I'll be glad when I finish the rest of the metalic Grey Knights :D

1000 Point Battle

So I played Jon's Undead. I thought it was going to be Vampire Counts. I was wrong. It was Tomb Kings he brang to the table. Whilst looking at his army, it seemed so small. He had his Tomb Prince, Liche Priest, 20 Skeleton Archers, 5 Heavy Horsemen, 10 Tomb Guard, 3 Ushabti and a Screamin Skull Catapult. I vastly out numbered him.

1000 Points Skaven

Tonight I'm playing my first game of 8th Edition at 1000 points. I've been slowly coming back into gaming, as I prefered to paint the models rather then play the game. I'm going up against Jon's Undead. Now this could be Vampire Counts or Tomb Kings as he has both, but I'm assuming its Vampires until next month anyway. This is the list I've come up with.

Model Making

Today has seen me finish making most of the models  needed done. I finished the Dreadknight, all 10 GK Terminators and the 5 man Purifier squad. These were all primed too!

I also made my friend and client's Hell Pit Abomination. This will be primed and ready to start painting next week for him.

I'm hoping to get work in progress shots of the Grey Knights tomorrow. I've finished the Dreadknights hammer weapon and starting on his sword. Its about the size of 2 terminators on top of each other!

Making Grey Knights

I've been making the new Grey Knight plastics. They are very easy to make. Just follow the instructons and bob's your uncle, they're done with minimal hassle.

Heres the configuration I've gone with for the Purifier Squad.

I'm going to paint these with Normal Metal paint scheme and the Terminators with a NMM scheme as I need a bit of practice on this.

Time to get priming!

New Blog!

Hi there everyone. This is my first post on this new blog. I plan on documenting all the painting work I do, from my own collection, commissions and other stuff like my army lists and my battles. But first I need to get to grips with how this works!
